Responsibilities included:
Learning and Maintaining the call for the show.
Training new stage managers on policies, procedures, and show tracks.
Assumed responsibility for, assisted with the build of, and ran multiple show tracks. These show tracks could consist of any and all of the combination of the below:
Presetting/checking all props and cirque rigging.
Safety talking patrons pre-show.
Moving and setting large set pieces, like a motorized contortion table.
Wrapping a contortionist up in previously mentioned contortion table.
Cueing live band and artists.
Clearing automation, lift checks and clears.
Catching and striking props from artists, sometimes thrown. (hand-eye coordination is key)
Hands on experience with foggers, footlights, microphones, etc.
Setting and striking aerial apparatuses: including lyra, single point and duo trapeze, hair aerial rope, hanging moon, straps, and many more!
Setting up magic acts. Unfortunately that’s all I can say about this one. Just know it’s way cooler than it sounds.
Operation of trap doors, confetti cannons, and pneumatic devices.
Working knowledge and operation of aerial winch system.
Knowing that the track can change at any and every second and be prepped for those changes.
