Production Stage Manager
Orlando Shakes Playfest 2019

Shakespeare and the Zombie Plague of 1590

The Grand Illusion Show

Rehearsal time had to be carefully scheduled to not only learn and rehearse the script and blocking, but for the cast to learn new music and parts and have time to get comfortable with it over the short rehearsal period.

One of my favorite stories to tell comes from this reading, where one of the performers got a flat tire the night of the performance so I had to start prepping the playwright. Luckily the actor managed to get to the theatre and the show went on as usual!

With a cast of 13 performers we took up the entire stage!

When I heard Emily Dendinger was returning to Orlando for Playfest 2019 I jumped at the opportunity to work with her again!

Different from any staged reading I’ve done, the stage directions reader was also a magician who would perform tricks throughout the reading.

I was able to create and maintain the call that helped with the misdirection of the tricks.
