Writes of Spring is a 3 part event where students submit a one page written response to a prompt, winners are selected to have their writing adapted in a brand new theatrical work.
This piece is created by professional theatre makers and is presented as a new work.
This particular year was special.
Due to COVID-19 precautions the production was written and rehearsed sequentially but filmed in a different order over 3 days to minimize downtime.
This required great forethought from me and my team to take what was set in rehearsals and fit it into a filming order that minimized set and costume changes, all while working with ages 6-18 and following COVID-19 procedures in the room.
